Have you ever been to a national inter-school competition award ceremony?
Ever been stuck between the girls and the speakers?
If your answer is 'NO', you make up the 2% of the world's population who have not been exposed to the trauma and dilemma of that horrible scenario.
Nah just joking. But count yourselves lucky. It is totally horrible being sandwiched between a large group of girls and a speaker. The speakers used at these award ceremonies are unpleasantly loud, and it's much worse standing right in front of one.
However, the common dilemma faced by sports people is: which is more horrid to the ears; the screaming of hysterical girls, or the loud blasting of the speakers?
My advice is that you should 'climb into [a sportsman's] skin and walk around in it'. (Atticus Finch, To Kill A Mockingbird)
