Should we consider Christianity as a religion? A religion is:
1. An organized system or institution of belief based upon the traditions of men INSTEAD of the pursuit of friendship with God.
2. The act of playing church, exchanging internal truths for external performance; substituting spiritual realities with carnal rituals.
No, God does not want us to only involve ourselves in rituals or ceremonies. God wishes to have a living relationship with us, He wants to be our friend. He sent Jesus Christ to die for our sins, so that no more sacrifices had to be brought to the temple in the asking of forgiveness, but we could freely commune with God. not through Mother Mary, not through the priests, but through Christ. Will you let Jesus be your friend and saviour today?
'by a new and living way opened for us the curtain, that is, his body' - Hebrews 10:20 (the curtains separating the holy inner chambers and the outside were torn when Christ died, symbolising the bridging of God and Man through Christ's sacrifice.)
'Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation.' - Galatians 6:15
'Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.' - 1 Peter 4:14
