On a note completely unrelated to my own birthday, I just happened to be in IMM today and since there was a bunch of gift shops there i was thinking maybe i could get something for the ppl whose birthdays are coming up.
Well after some thoughts and input by certain ppl, i think ive come to a conclusion. Ive decided that i should get birthday presents only for those who i know will appreciate them. In other words, if i think that someone doesnt view birthday presents as important, they dont mind not having, then i shant give.
Example, ppl who receive 100 birthday presents coz they are THAT popular. One less gift to them doesnt make a difference if ur just part of the crowd. Unless im like in the inner circle of a big crowd i dont mind but if thats not so i guess its gonna end up rotting away so thats a waste of money isnt it?
For me personally, receiving gifts is not about how expensive they are but really i like birthday gifts coz they serve as a reminder of a friendship. They have a special meaning for me. I still keep the woodpecker beside my bed =D. The one whos going bald soon.
So i left the shops after i decided i wasnt going to buy presents for the sake of buying them. Its rather pointness. Its the thought that counts but there is no thought going into just entering a shop and getting something, anything. (And neither is there thought in saying 'i was going to get something but i didnt know what to'.)
So if you dont get a present, you know why, its coz im assuming you dont mind. And no that wasnt intended to rhyme.
However if you do, then notify me =D. I know ppl think its weird to tell another person 'i want present', i wouldnt do that too but since im giving permission you may =D.
