1 Kings 9b:18

The LORD Appears to Elijah

And the word of the LORD came to him: "What are you doing here, Elijah?"

He replied, "I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too."

The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by."
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"

He replied, "I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too."

The LORD said to him, "Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram. Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet. Jehu will put to death any who escape the sword of Hazael, and Elisha will put to death any who escape the sword of Jehu. Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him."

The words in brown is also a very interesting part of scripture which is highlighted out but i will not be talking about it today. The one im more concerned with right now are the words in red.

This was after Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal and then some stuff happened and then he pwned them and he was hunted down and people wanted to kill him. The "time of sacrifce" thingo Si Er said i think last year. From what I see, at this point in time Elijah was pretty emo. He felt alone in his purpose. He felt like there was no one with him. That he was soloing and all seems hopeless. After all, how much difference could HE make? Sure he pwned the prophets of Baal but what difference did THAT make? So what if he managed to prove God to be the real and only true God. People just ignore him completely even when its right in front of their eyes and instead of coming back to God they tried to kill him.

Well imo, the next red part is cool (the Bible is cool okay). At a most depressing point in time, its good to know you're not alone.

Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him.

Honestly, sometimes do we feel that we are alone in doing the works of God? That it appears that even the other Christians seem to be slacking off and living not so Christian lives?

Well, we never walk alone =D.

In fact, I would say that even if there wasn't those seven thousand, if we have nothing, absolutely nothing, but God, we have victory in our hands.

Sometimes when i read the thing about raising the dead and those simple impossible miraculous things in the Bible i'll be abit skeptical. Sure anot. Sure the verse "For nothing is impossible with God" rings in my head but its easy to say a verse and not truly understand it.

Well lets put it this way. You're talking about God. You're not talking about the Prime Minster where you say "For nothing is impossible with PM Lee". Hes only human. You're talking about a supernatural being who exists outside the limitations space and time. Who is the author of ALL creation. Tell me, if He can create stuffs, what can't the do to them?

2 kings 6:15-17

Elisha Traps Blinded Arameans

When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. "Oh, my lord, what shall we do?" the servant asked.

"Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them."

And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

So. What are we afraid of? What do we have to fear? If God is for us, who can be against us?

I was reminded of something that I read on Gideon's blog a long time ago.

My heart pounds within me,
I cannot keep silent.
For I have heard the sound of the trumpet;
I have heard the battle cry.

Lets move. Today.
