When you wash your body wash your hands too

Haha omigosh. With the recent Nobody craze going on, ive been surviving rather well and not bursting into random "i want nobody nobody but you". Well maybe today's an exception. But hey im not addicted to the thing. I just got reminded of it today coz Eugene showed me something during SL. But before that, for those ppl who are lost and are saying 'what nobody craze', lemme explain abit.

The Wonder Girls are a girl group from Korean which has captured the hearts of many Koreans and a little outside when they released their first album. Then they released this song called 'Nobody'. It has a SUPER CATCHY TUNE. Its a very simple rhythm, but yea it sticks in your head. The clapping part yea. Personally the tune was glued onto me the first time i listened to it but i didnt get addicted to it so im fine. Unlike Kevin Tan who prolly did and would come here and flame me if i listed anything about the wondergirls wrongly =p.

So yea. Not only is the nobody tune very catchy, apparently everyone loves the dance moves either, which they too are very simple but yea. Anyone can do those moves (though not everyone can do them well) and so ppl all over the world started to imitate those moves, take a video and post it up on youtube.

So now, the nobody fever has hit Singapore and yes. Heres the MV. Its quite funny actually haha.

I just realised that the guy in the MV is an actual singer and is also their producer.

And this is what Eugene showed me. Guess what, the nobody fever isnt the only fever to hit Singapore xD. I recommend watching the first video above first to help understand the video below better. But if you no time i strongly recommend watching the video below then its only like 3 mins and its holidays now so haha xD. Watch it first before continue reading.

Epicness whoooo!! Haha omigosh i keep laughing. When you wash your body wash your hands too!! And after 2:20 it just gets completely random. Like the previous sentence was still in line with what they hav been singing then suddenly 'the wonder girls damn chio' its like wth so random. Then omigosh they started rapping haha. Kim Jong Ill lol? How they anyhow drag.

And 'the mr brown show is a podcast from mr brown dot com and its always for nobody but you'.

Then linking from there, another mr brown show podcast from last time one but not that long ago.

Haha omigosh this one is just SUPER RANDOM. Like maybe after awhile you think it gets boring then they come up with something new lol. Haha gogo watch it. Mr brown is epic as ever.

So. When you WASH YOUR BODY WASH YOUR HANDS TOO!!

And if you feel like it go the website and listen the Kim Jong Ill one also lol it the latest one. Its quite amusing but dont look at the lyrics in advance its the kind of thing thats funnier when you dont see it coming. Though I still prefer the wonder girls nobody spoof more than the rest.

Da da dee dum.

So apparently i have alot of homework.

Oops?

Meh. I should get started. I havnt even given Raj my POD topic but i srsly cant think of anything =(.

Anyway today had SL at nh again which we continued planning the racial harmony stuff this time in the comfort of the staff room =p. Which we did quite abit but i was like going crazy about stamps by 4+ so i ended up facebooking. Though eugene and chunwee have been poh pohing since the start =p.

Which reminds me. TAN WEI REN, DARYL (see the comma also correct)!! WHERE ARE THE RACIAL HARMONY QUESTIONS!! THE FULL PRESENTATION FOR THE ENTIRE UPPER PRIMARY RACIAL HARMONY GAMES RAWRRR!!! Uhm supposed to submit the whole thing, with all the questions possibly 50 or more, no copying of questions that Eugene already submitted, aim, procedure, EVERYTHING. By like. Today. -.-. You tell me how? Faster EMAIL RAWRRRRRRR!! EVERYTHING AR!!

Yea back to that, i was facebooking then i was trying to set the darn facebook record for guitar geek but no time so meh. I could have been the name right on top for the weekly records ok. Now already kena push out from there le. And im still trying to break into the all time records. And evidently Zachary Xavier Hansen and Neil Matthew Tjakra hacked the system somehow eh.

Then supposed to join the 6jk05 ppl for dinner. They went to watch night and the museum 2 so i didnt go and so i went to cityvibe, walked around the whole place, went into the arcade, watch ppl play, played one round of outrunner which i did badly, wanted to play again but realised i had no money for 2 more tokens in coins so i decided to forget it and went to west mall. West mall i took the escalator to the fifth floor, walked to the arcade, watched ppl play DDR extreme and guitar hero arcade edition (wth?) and then took the escalator the the third floor, tried to find a quiet and isolated place in the library but there was none. Then i went back up to the fifth floor to find a quiet and isolated place but there was still none (i didnt exactly want to choose the stairs). So i went down the the first floor, walked out of west mall to find the playground, walked one whole round around westmall like from the exit i went out i turned one full round back there and then realised that the original place i went out from west mall was correct. Then i walked towards the playground, found that there were more than 10 kids there. Walked around the neighbourhood but not really nice place then finally settled on this place near the playground and sat down and did whatever i wanted to do =p. 30-45 mins later Bynes called me to tell me they were done so i finished up and joined them. Nice one!!

Yea we ate pastamania rawr. It was quite funny.

Someone: "where do you all want to eat"
Someone: "lets wait for charles"
Me: "charles would say pastamania"
Someone: "ok lets go"
*no one goes anywhere. charles arrives*
Someone: "charles where you wanna eat"
Charles: *thinks for awhile* uhh... pastamania

Wow!! Whadayaknow xD.

Haha anyway thats the first time i ate pastamania, i think the crayfish pasta burnt a hole in my pocket and i shldnt have eaten it but i guess i havnt eaten crayfish in sometime and wanted to eat. Wrong place though crayfish shld eat at some cheaper hawker centre haha =p. Its nicer too at the Jurong that big big place also leh. Meh.

Yea then went to the playground which is no longer filled with kids. Then classic i knew everyone would stone lol. Chua was trying to get ppl to do stuff which I honestly think we ought to have at least RESPONDED. Everyone like daoing her lor. And honestly i think we tend to do that alot when ppl say something at least acknowledge and say something la like why no and stuff dont ignore or say no and leave it at that coz its quite irritating for the person whos actually trying to help out and suggest something. Haizz we arent exactly frenly to plans and suggestions are we. Maybe thats why no one tries to plan anything proper. Coz it all always collapses. Nvm lets not go into the details.

So yea after doing some random stuff, went off to another place to stone (very classic indeed) and yar. Blah blah blah and then we all went home.

Rawr.

Bynes not online haha. Ah well. Many things. Im wondering about 2 thingos coming up really. They're on my shoulders and i really really want to do it right, do it well.

Lets go. I'll go. Just go.

You know, many people who read the Bible will know about the story of Abraham and Isaac in Genesis. Abraham was a man of God who followed God wholeheartedly. People reading it can see how Abraham really just puts God first in his life. Abraham also dearly wished for a son, but he never gave birth to one. But at his old age, God promised him a child and Abraham had Isaac at the age of 100. Cant rmb if its exactly 100 or around there but 100? Yea. So imagine how happy Abraham was when Sarah got pregnant at her old age as well and gave birth to Isaac safe and sound. Its pretty much a miracle of God.

Then one day God says, and i quote, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."

Heres the reaction of a normal human being. WTP?!?! God gave Abraham a son after so long, made Abraham so happy, and then after Abraham was with his son for a couple of years (i think Isaac was 12 or something), God says essentialy 'go stab him with a knife, kill your own son and burn him as an offering for me'.

And im like oh my gosh if I was Abraham im not quite sure i want to do that.

"Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about."

And then i would be like wth hes really going to do it? And it says early the NEXT MORNING. Not next month of something. God says do it and hes just going to obey? But this thing just soudns ridicious. Are you sure you didnt hear wrongly? Why would God do this.

And, if this God is a God who wants you do such atrocities, are you sure its the God you want to follow?

I dont know about others but this whole thing about the Isaac and Abraham thing has always struck me as weird and very unlike God. Sure later just before Abraham plunged the knife into Isaac God stopped him and praised him and acknowledged him and blessed him but wth. The intention was there even if it was just a test, a test to see if you would kill your own son isnt exactly very nice.

So this thought has been with me for years, i never thought much about it though but its always there. Until recently I heard the message from Pastor Tim and i saw this whole thing in a new light. Which is why context in the Bible is always so important because without context i think many people will stare at the old testament and what God did and go "what the hell".

And i understood this passage fully only when i read this passage from the famous Faith chapter. My goodness i dont even realise why ive never seen it when i read the faith chapter. Hebrews 11:17-19

"By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death.

Then i realized that God's test on Abraham that fateful day wasnt so much of testing whether he loved God more than his son that he would be willing to kill his own son if God wants him to. It was a test of how much faith Abraham had in God. I didnt realise this part before hand but look at Genesis 17:19

Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

You see, Abraham held on to this promise. That Isaac will be the descendant that will bring forth many nations and kings. If Isaac died that day as a sacrifice, then God's promise would have been a lie. Abraham believed that God would not lie, would not fail to keep his promises. The day he brought Isaac up to the mountain to sacrifice him was more than a decade after the promise he received. But he didnt hesitate. He trusted that God will deliver. This is, absoulte faith.

And suddenly the whole thing makes sense and wow.

Faith.

And rereading the faith chapter, i realised that I always had concentrated alot on the stuff like "faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" and "without faith it is impossible to please God" verses, but now i read carefully the descriptions and examples from the life of the people in the Bible i see this whole thing in a new light. It took ALOT of faith for some of these people to do what they did, not just Abraham. Look at Noah. You build a darn gigantic boat because God told you to and you spent a hundred years building it too because there was supposed to be the coming of a crazy rain even though there was no such thing as rain then. And the people of Israel when crossing the red sea. Im not too sure i want to walk into a sea with two walls of water beside me that could probably collapse on me and drown me any second. Even Rahab. She could have handed the spies over to the authorities, but she didnt. Even though the spies told her they were gonna get an army and mow down the entire city, kill everyone in it and all she had was their word that they were not going to kill her and her family. Maybe, based on lack of infomation i might have done 'the right thing' and informed the authorities yea?

Faith.

Its such an amazing thing. Great things have been done through faith. And deeds based on that faith alone.

Faith.

The Bible just gets cooler and cooler everyday ^^. Nowadays i find myself wanting to read it at the parts that people usually dont read and not just those classic chapters that people always have millions of quotes from. Though hebrews IS one of the chapters that people have millions of quotes from heh. But hey im like reading 2 chronicles now and i can tell you that many people might find it and much of the old testament boring, i did too when i first decided to start the read through the bible in a year thing (i thought leviticus, numbers and deuteronomy was quite abit of a chore heh sorry) but slowly, by the time i reached near the middle part of 1 kings i started to see things in a diferent light. And hey now, ive found a great book!! Its boring when you try to read it as a fantasy story book. Its brilliant when you let to book read you. Its hard to explain but yea. Ive found joy in reading the Bible whooo. Im like 'can i go on and read the rest of 2 chronicles' but must resist reading too much in one day!! Must slowly then can absorb. Haha omigosh maybe im crazy but if im crazy im crazy for the right reasons ^^.

Da da dee dum.

Hebrews 11, also know as the faith chapter can be found here.

Goodnight.
