Give Him A Chance

http://dlibrary.acu.edu.au/research/theology/ejournal/aejt_2/images/creation.jpgThere is just so much evidence for Christianity that for one who knows the facts, it is probably harder not to believe in God. Its true, more and more scientists all over the world are becoming Christians as they study this world, this universe, for everything in it literally screams CREATION. It is not a sweeping statement.

Many people in their ignorance believe that science contradicts with all that is in the Bible but in reality, they couldn’t be more wrong. Over and over again, science and archaeology has found truths in the Bible that people have previously thought to be fabrications. Things such as the existence of Jesus Christ and the possibility of legendary distortion of historical facts are now not even considered by scholars both atheists and Christian alike because there is overwhelming evidence in support of it.

But really, in all honestly, many people simply do not want to accept Christianity, accept the existence of God because they fear what it really means. For to believe in the God of Christianity, fortunately or unfortunately, is to follow what he tells us to do. Jesus tells us to deny ourselves and take up our cross to follow him. God calls for us to surrender to him. It is by no means an easy message. But just because one doesn’t want to believe in something does not mean that it is not true. If God is real, if the God of the bible is the real and living God, then finding out the truth of this issue should be of utmost importance because it is something that will have an eternal impact, going beyond these mere years we spend on this earth.

Can I urge us all for those who say ‘there is no God’, I say examine the evidence carefully and weigh it out, find proper counter arguments if you can, and tackle the question as objectively as possible. Do not reject it as impossible right from the beginning but find out for yourself if it is. For those who say ‘I cannot know if there is a God’, I say to you, in light of all that God has revealed to us, are you sure? The Bible says ‘You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart’. God has revealed just enough such that those who are willing to seek him will find him. I ask that we put aside our personal bias and take on this challenge.

No one is asking you to fall on your knees and cry out to God after reading this, but I am asking that you investigate for yourself the truth of this matter and assure you that if you are truly willing to do this, God will reveal himself to you and you will find him and abide in his love.
