With one desire we come

You thought of us before the world began to breathe
You knew our names before we came to be
You saw the very day we fall away from You
And how desperately we need to be redeemed

Lord Jesus
Come lead us
We're desperate for Your touch

Oh great and mighty one
With one desire we come
That You would reign that You would reign in us
We're offering up our lives
A living sacrifice
That You would reign that You would reign in us

Spirit of the living God fall fresh again
Come search our hearts and purify our lives
We need Your perfect love we need Your discipline
We're lost unless You guide us with Your light

Lord Jesus
Come lead us
We're desperate for Your touch

Oh great and mighty one
With one desire we come
That You would reign that You would reign in us
We're offering up our lives
A living sacrifice
That You would reign that You would reign in us

We cry out for Your life to revive us cry out
For Your love to define us cry out
For Your mercy to keep us
Blameless until You return

Oh great and mighty one
With one desire we come
That You would reign that You would reign in us
We're offering up our lives
A living sacrifice
That You would reign that You would reign in us
[2 x]

You would reign in us

So reign please reign in us
Come purify our hearts
We need Your touch
Come cleanse us like a flood
And send us out
So the world may know You reign You reign in us
[3 x]

A few people have blogged this song already but I intend to approach this differently. Im not just gonna say 'hey guys its a nice and meaningful song go listen to it'.

I first heard this song when I saw it posted on two blogs and I was thinking 'hmm ok fine I shall go listen to it'. It was, not too bad, I kinda liked it. So I bookmarked the youtube page.

Few days later (last saturday), Andy played this song during prayer meeting. And you know what, Reign In Us is similar to songs like Consuming Fire in one way. These songs, when you listen to them in their mp3 and stuff, they aren't that spectacular. But when you go deep into worship and you just lift up your hands and cry it out, when the Holy Spirit is moving, these songs are POWERFUL songs.

And so, uniting our hearts, we lift up this cry.

Afterwards. Cell time. After we're done with our other stuff we went into the honour room for some prayer time (cuz ballet class complain we too noisy le). On our knees, we pray, we lift up Kairos into the hands of God. After which Andy starts playing this song again and once more, as one cell, as one body of Christ, we cry out.

Its interesting, that this song doesnt say 'I', but 'We'.

I could apply this in context to DI, but I want to especially apply this to Kairos. I mentioned many times before. 2009 was quite a dead year for us. But this year, 2010, is going to be different.

To every member of Kairos, I want us to continue to sing this song together. I want us to continue to live out this song together. For though we are many, we are one.

And standing united, we cry out for God to fill us. Together, we come and stand before the presence of God with one desire. That God may reign in us.

All things we need will come through that. Be it being a prayer warrior, being a evangelist, a disciple or whatever else, first and foremost, we need the power of God moving in our lives. We need God to reign in us. If God is not with us, working through us, all our efforts are in vain.

So together, lets deny ourselves and take up this cross and follow Jesus. We're not alone in this journey and we will encourage and guide one another along. Together, we fix our eyes on Jesus and we run.

Revival.
