Would you dare to believe?

Hey, this goes out to you too. I hope it encourages you.

I arose this morning at 5.30am after a long slumber. Been sleeping continuously yesterday since 4pm, awake only once for dinner. Sometimes, all you want to do is to sleep.

I remember being asked at bs last week, what would you do when life gets you down (or something like that)? I said, I would sleep. And then when I am awake and better able to process everything, then I'll deal with it.

But sleep alone is not enough. It serves only as a buffer time. At end of the day, you have to return to the one thing that can truly restore you.

I like the really early mornings (I shall consider switching my sleep cycle after IB once in awhile to enjoy these mornings haha). Like 3-5ish am, but not being awake till that time or forced to wake at that time without enough sleep. I like awakening to that after a good sleep, where all is quiet and at rest, and occasionally one car would pass by the roadside, but just one. All is still, and I can be still.

In the stillness, we lift our eyes to Him.

And I was reminded of this song. How appropriate actually. Those few hours happen to be both night and morning. So perhaps its appropriate to call it the time before the morning. Oh yes. Then morning comes, the day and as all its activities begins, and we look to it joyfully as we bask in the light.

Do you wonder why you have to
Feel the things that hurt you
If there’s a God who loves you where is He now

Maybe there are things you can’t see
And all those things are happening
To bring a better ending
Someday somehow you’ll see you’ll see

Would you dare would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

My friend you know how this all ends
You know where you’re going
You just don’t know how you’ll get there
So say a prayer

And hold on cause there’s good for those who love God
But life is not a snapshot
It might take a little time but you’ll see the bigger picture

Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory

It’s just the hurt before the healing
Oh the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
