I realised that Cornerstone is actually based on the hymn 'On Christ the Solid Rock I stand', which I seem to recall singing alot back in school during chapel but somehow I never really made the connection until a few weeks ago. I do prefer the way Cornerstone is done, the hymn seems to rush through the verses which are actually really rich in meaning, whereas Cornerstone emphasizes these verses.
And here's another song that is an adaption from a popular hymn. It's a good thing I feel. Many of these hymns are so rich but they don't really suit today's audience. Being able to bring these blessed words to another generation is a wonderful thing. At the end of the day, may God be glorified in these songs.
