It's easy to make moral judgements on things we don't know much about. The truth is many things in life are inherently complex.
One recent one that I find as I work is relating to the O&G industry. It's generally regarded as a dirty industry, frowned upon. For good reason of course, the industry has significant environmental impact and is not sustainable. And so policy must come in, and the industry must be shaped in a healthy way. But it is also important to recognise that O&G is a critical commodity, and renewables are not in any way able to make up for this shortfall any time soon. The truth is the O&G has helped shaped the world to be a better place, and it's not wise to simplify the issue and treat it as something bad.
There are others. Taxing the rich more to give greater benefits for the poor sounds like a good idea, except it's not necessarily the case and careful consideration needs to be given. NS and safety issues.
