The radical moral implications of luck in human life

Reminds me of the readings I did in uni about meritocracy and the understanding of how privilege works. Saying that some people are more privileged than others isn't dismissing the efforts put in by the privileged. It simply means that given the same amount of effort, the privileged get further, because the starting line was different to begin with. In a 100 meter race, someone who starts 20 meters further behind would have to sprint much faster just to get the same timing
