Before we get into WOD, this Keone and Mari routine oh my.

Alright, so WOD season 3 has come to an end. No surprise who won.
I'm slightly disappointed but at the same time totally get it. In terms of consistency and pure amazement value, nothing quite comes close to The Kings all season. All 5 of their performances are top 7 scores all season. Their lowest score was 97.7 for goodness sake. It's pretty ridiculous.
But I do find it a little disappointing because as much as they have insane raw talent and really amaze me with the kind of crazy things they do, at the end of the day feel more like the world's best circus act / cheer leaders rather than dancers. Take away their tricks and the rest of the performance is nothing special, dance moves are simplistic and repetitive.
So because of that, despite recognising how good they are, I hoped someone would be able to upstage them eventually no matter how unlikely. The Heima possibly could if they kept getting better, but I figured they would instead run out of steam and they did, their final performance was underwhelming and probably the worst. Poppin John, Briar Nolet and Ellie & Ava could do well but were unlikely to hit the 98+ that would be needed to take out The Kings.
So I was counting on Vpeepz or Unity LA to do it in the finals. Both were the teams who cracked the top 7 scores, and if they could outdo themselves, they might just be able to do it. But well, Vpeepz is really good technically but they live and die by their choreography and nothing came close to their &burn routine in The Cut. Unity LA is always interesting to watch and had to come up with a really compelling story and choreography but it was not enough.
So yea, congrats to the winners I guess haha. I mean, they deserve it lah but oh well.

As for routines worth watching, the world finals was kinda meh, it was obvious watching after all the routines that The Kings would destroy everyone and they did.
Vpeepz's rehearsal footage that just got released actually looks better than their stage performance imo. Think the colours for the stage routine was too much. Also I think the barrels probably did more harm than good.
Divisional finals before that was probably more interesting. Though of course The Kings destroyed everyone there too. Gotta say though the flip kick was pretty dope.
There was Unity LA's best routine. This is the other routine in the top 7 other than Vpeepz' &Burn and the 5 The Kings performances.
Probably Briar Nolet's best performance although she still feels too much like a gymnast rather than a dancer to me (I would be salty if she won too haha).
Vpeepz was not bad too although &burn is still better.
Poppin John's UMC was pretty cool.
