Quickfire: Streamers and YouTube

Some completely random intro
  1. So the thing about Twitch is that you're watching streamers live, and it's impossible to be entertaining all the time. So I've been finding it easier to catch up on just the best bits on youtube.
  2. Saw some videos of the streamers meeting celebrities they are fans of. The dynamics of celebrities being fans of each other is pretty interesting.
  3. Some are perhaps more interesting because some of these streamers just blew up this year and despite being 'top in their field', so sure they may be pretty popular now but they may still not really consider themselves 'celebrities'.
  4. Especially since streaming is not mainstream - most people don't actually know who top streamers are. So to meet mainstream celebrities and realise some of them know about you and are actually your fans is pretty interesting.
Random Corpse stuff
  1. Saw that Corpse played a game with the rapper Logic, and Logic knows the lyrics to one of Corpse's song and was memeing about it. Which is pretty cool.
  2. Corpse is interesting. First became popular because of his deep voice and narrated horror stories, and now branches into music, making some gaming content, and occasionally streaming. Anonymous, he has never shown his face to most people. Apparently has some long term conditions. Seems like a really great guy. Hilarious. Yet underlying there's whiffs of sadness.
  3. I mean like I mentioned before, no one really knows what's actually going on in these streamers life - it's like Instagram right, what people put up is just what they showcase.
  4. I can't appreciate most of Corpse's songs. The beats have its appeal but the lyrics are eh. This one is though is different from the rest and... interesting.
  5. So all in all, I really can't figure out this guy. Haha.
Lilypichu
  1. This mashup is pretty cool though. Someone combined Corpse's agoraphobic with lilypichu's dreamy night.
  2. Lilypichu is an offlinetv member, michael reeves' gf, who first got popular for her music.
  3. Also this song lel. Temmie!
Ryan Higa
  1. Ryan Higa is interesting. OG youtuber, I'm sure many people know him. He doesn't make videos much anymore, but streams a fair bit now. It's kinda funky because as a streamer, he's the new kid to the block but as a content creator he's well known and beloved.
  2. I really do miss the good old days of watching his videos, he kinda faded away. I grew up to his content and he was literally the only person I subscribed to for the longest time. Heck maybe I created an account to subscribe to him or something I don't remember anymore.
  3. So I guess now that those videos are no longer coming, it's just nice to see him hang with the offlineTV and friends gang.
Youtube Content
  1. Many content creators have been talking about it for a very long time now - youtube really doesn't incentivise good quality content. It's an age old problem. I've first heard about it years ago from Ryan Higa. It's all a volume game now. The effort it takes to make a good quality video is just not worth it.
  2. I went back to watch some of my favourite Ryan Higa videos. Man, they're still hilarious after so many years. This has still got to be my favourite. Or maybe this one heh.
  3. So it's kinda sad. Though some people still make good content from time to time. It occurs to me that's what Michael Reeves' videos are. He probably makes most of his money on twitch, but makes quality youtube content once in awhile.
  4. Dunkey talks about it in the video below too. The best thing about this video though is not only is it true, but he also sarcastically delivers on whatever he said he will do, and he's still doing it. And his meme bait content is doing very well ironically heh.
  5. Go see the videos he did after this one. 1/10 effort, 10/10 content
